Interfaith

My house shall be a house of prayer for all peoples. (Isaiah 56:7)

Temple Or Hadash warmly welcomes interfaith families and couples. In fact, a significant proportion of our membership is composed of interfaith families. The Interfaith Committee’s goal is to welcome such families and help integrate them into our community. We strive to assist in strengthening the Jewish identity of the Jewish member, and to provide a comfortable environment for the non-Jewish member, who is equally valued. Except for a very few religious procedures, non-Jewish members are welcome to participate in all congregational activities.

Considering temple membership can be stressful for an interfaith family. Our committee, which is composed of interfaith members, is available to assist you in this process. Please feel free to contact Lana Ollson at membership@templeorhadash.org

for more information. Whether you join Or Hadash or not, know that you are always welcome here.

May the door of this synagogue be wide enough

to receive all who hunger for love, all who are lonely for friendship.

May it welcome all who have cares to unburden,

thanks to express, hopes to nurture.

May the door of this synagogue be narrow enough

to shut out pettiness and pride, envy and enmity.

May its threshold be no stumbling block

to young or straying feet.

May it be too high to admit complacency,

selfishness, and harshness.

May this synagogue be, for all who enter, the doorway

to a richer and more meaningful life.
