For Preschool through B’nai Mitzvah

OR KATAN

Or Katan (Little Light) is a free monthly preschool program open to all. There is singing, arts and crafts, a PJ Library story, snacks, and a chance to meet other Jewish preschoolers and their grownups. There is no requirement to join Temple Or Hadash, or to have two Jewish parents, or to have any Jewish knowledge. It’s all about fun and friendship!

BAGELS AND B’NAI MITZVAH

Pre-Bar/Bat MItzvah students and their parents are invited to join us once a month as we explore what it means to become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. We meet with the rabbi and key educators to discuss topics relevant to becoming a well-rounded, high-functioning member of the Jewish community. We also look at specifics, such as Torah study, how to prepare, and what to expect when leading a Bar/Bat Mitzvah service at Or Hadash. During Bagels and B’nai Mitzvah, there is plenty of time to bond with other families experiencing this meaningful Jewish milestone.

For Adults

SUNDAY CHATS  This is our very popular Sunday morning discussion series. The topics are wide-ranging, and the give-and-take is lively. We learn together, we laugh together, and we share a breakfast nosh together. In the process, bonds are created that make for a strong community.

TORAH STUDY  This may sound intimidating, but Torah study at Or Hadash is enlightening and enjoyable. The study is led by Rabbi Hillel Katzir or a member of the congregation in a relaxed setting. The goal is to spend time with the text, to learn the historical context, and to gain a deeper appreciation of the central texts of Judaism.

CLUBS  Please see the Community tab to read about the various clubs and interest groups we have at Or Hadash.
